I recently stayed at this DoubleTree for a week, and overall, it was a very positive experience. The hotel features an impressive but older design with a unique layout that is incredibly convenient for business travelers. I was staying on one of the high floors, yet I could get from my room to the lobby in about a minute. That kind of efficiency is rare and makes checking out or getting to a meeting a breeze. The rooms themselves are in excellent condition, having been renovated a few years ago. The beds are comfortable, and the unique shape of the building allows for interesting room layouts and great views. However, because the building was designed for a different era, the lighting is a significant drawback. The entire facility feels very dark, especially in the bathrooms and showers; it’s dim enough that you almost feel like you need a flashlight. While the rooms are well-cared for, a little more investment in modern lighting would go a long way. The amenities are solid, featuring a great gym, a pool, a decent restaurant, and even a small Starbucks on-site. I did have an issue with my shower—it started making a loud noise that sounded like a train passing through—but the staff was excellent. I notified them, and maintenance came out promptly to fix it the very next day. This reflects the overall service here: the staff is welcoming, friendly, and they clearly care about the facility. The location is also a major plus. It’s situated in a great area with easy access to any primary business park and plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby, including some fantastic barbecue. Parking is convenient, though the lot itself is a bit worn and looks like it’s due for a resurfacing. While it’s not a five-star facility simply due to its age, it is a well-maintained property that offers a classic, reliable DoubleTree experience. I had a good stay and would recommend it for anyone needing a functional, friendly home base for a business trip.

I only have some nitpicky issues, otherwise this is a great hotel and great value. Road construction makes it slightly inconvenient. Our room had bathroom drainage issues but we were immediately given another room and extra points for the trouble. Service is top tier. Our next room had HVAC issue and a service tech came within 10min and fixed it quick. Lots of elevators make traveling all the floors without many stops. Team breakfast was nice. Starbucks there is nice. Rooms were very clean. Some do not have refrigerators so if thats necessary make sure you're getting one. We will stay here again.

What made this a standout stay was the staff. Luxy laid the foundation for a great stay with one of the warmest, friendliest check-ins I can remember — greeting us with a smile, asking about our day, clearly sharing about dinner and breakfast availability, recognizing us as Diamond members, and providing a room upgrade since the hotel was not especially crowded. Both other desk staff we encountered were also friendly, including the young man who helped with a small print job, and the assistant front office manager who checked us out and quickly worked through a minor issue. The restaurant staff were on top of their game as well. We are in the KC regularly, and when we are back in June, we look forward to being back here!

The hotel is conveniently located near the freeway. It’s a large hotel with lots of rooms and a pretty big parking lot that you have to pay for parking. The lobby was nice and the young lady who checked his hand was very pleasant. The rooms are clean, but they are a little dark and strangely laid out in sort of a fan shape. The odd thing is there’s probably 300 rooms in this hotel and there’s only six cars outside as it is a holiday weekend in the middle of winter. And they put us in a room right next to another room that’s rented and we can hear everything. The lady is saying through the wall.

We had the BEST experience! We’ve stayed in many hotels across the city to find our favorite! I am utterly impressed by this hotel, the staff & how caring and accommodating they are for their customers! The BIGGEST shoutout goes to SYDNEY & LUXY! Hands down the two best hotel receptionists I’ve ever spoke to/met! It was our son’s 7th bday and he wanted to have the best stay and these two girls made it so it was perfect for him! If you two read this, please know you made a CORE memory for my son for all the adjustments you made, and for making it so special! & if you the manager are reading this, GIVE THESE GIRLS A RAISE!!! They went above and beyond - we will be back as we have finally found our favorite hotel in the city!

I stay at this property when I am in town for work. I visit the bar each evening, usually after a business dinner, for a couple of drinks to unwind. The bar staff is amazing, but I have to say that Walter is what sets this place apart from any other hotel that I have stayed at. He is always so genuinely happy to see his repeat guests and goes out of his way to accommodate any of the customers' needs.

Sydney was amazing and made sure my experience was perfect here! Huge thanks to her for everything. The room and view was super nice. Bathroom was high quality. Morning breakfast was great, and this place had the nicest gym I’ve seen in a hotel. Weights go up to 75 lbs

Recently stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights on a business trip. When you pull up it is a tall plain looking building. They have a nice fitness center, and a pool room with a sauna. The decor in the lobby and the sleeping rooms definitely needs updated, but some of the staff that I interacted with is what made my stay. I was greeted by Lexi, who is a beautiful young lady that reminds me of my granddaughter. There is a coffee shop and a bar/restaurant on property. The coffee shop is a bit confusing because they only staff it for a few hours in the morning, but the barista was very friendly when I got my Latte. I went to the bar to have one drink and dinner the evening that I arrived. Little did I expect to have one of best tasting cocktails that I have ever had, and a delicious meal. Phil has a way of making you feel like you are a part of the family, and puts on an amazing show on behind the bar. Phil and Walter had all of the customers engaged in a lively yet cozy atmosphere. I have never experienced that at a hotel bar in all of my travels. After such a great experience for dinner on my first night, I was very much looking forward breakfast the next morning. However, I was disappointed with the service that I was provided as well as the food.
